It works to advance periodontal (gum) health in Turkey through scientific congresses and symposia, professional education for periodontists and dental academics, and public awareness of gum disease, including World Gum Health Day. It also sponsors epidemiological studies of oral health and publishes patient information. Its members are periodontology specialists and academics, and it operates across Turkey with local branches such as Ankara.
