Uluslararası Şeffaflık Derneği

Founded in 2008, Uluslararası Şeffaflık Derneği is a non-profit association based in İstanbul, Turkey working on democracy & civil society.

Uluslararası Şeffaflık Derneği is a Turkish association founded in 2008 through voluntary efforts. It works to establish transparency, integrity and accountability across society in Turkey, with the aim of supporting the country's democratic, social and economic development. The association works against corruption by addressing its systemic causes rather than individual cases, and it brings together public bodies, businesses, trade unions, universities, professional organisations and civil society to pursue reform. It is the Turkish national chapter of Transparency International, shares its principles, and contributes to international reports such as the Corruption Perceptions Index and the Global Corruption Barometer. It also provides input to the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention progress reports and, through the TI Brussels office, to European Union progress reports. Its activities include monitoring municipal and local government transparency, publishing research such as audit report monitoring and integrity tools, and running training and education programmes.
