Foreningen Værdig is a non-profit association based in Aalborg, Denmark, that works to improve conditions for relatives. It supports relatives of organ donors and parents of children facing difficult circumstances, offering free support groups, guidance on navigating the system, and access to partner advisory services. The association was founded in March 2024 by Maj Kær, whose son Victor became an organ donor after brain death in early 2024. Värdig also works at national level on knowledge sharing with healthcare staff, researchers and experts, and offers lectures and advice, including on respectful treatment of relatives in the workplace. The association is run largely by volunteers.
