Værftet is a not-for-profit association in Nexø, on Bornholm, Denmark. It runs a community house with an indoor skate hall, an indoor play park, a café and meeting rooms, drawing on volunteers. Its work centres on creating meaningful communities for children, young people and families, through weekly clubs, family activities and a shared meal community. Rooted in a Christian foundation, it is open to all regardless of background. It also hosts an advice group for newcomers to Denmark and rents its premises to businesses and groups. Its income comes from gifts, grants, sponsorship and café sales. The association was started in 1999 by young people who built ramps and later moved into a former shipyard, and it has about 1,700 members and around 25,000 visitors a year.
