About
Founded in 1984, Værløse Flyhistoriske Hangar is a non-profit association based in Værløse, Denmark working on heritage, education, community development.
Værløse Flyhistoriske Hangar is a Danish association that works to preserve historical aircraft, buildings and the cultural heritage of the former Flyvestation Værløse. It runs an open hangar at Hangar 2 in Værløse with exhibitions for visitors, including a permanent exhibition on the station's history developed with Furesø Museer and the Royal Danish Air Force Historical Collection. Members restore and maintain aircraft for display, catalogue archival material and photographs, and organise events, tours and talks for members and the public. The association also provides a shared meeting room and café space in the hangar, and hosts school services from Furesø Kommune. Its founding roots lie in a pensioners' association for the former air station, established in 1984.
