Vissing Fonden is a Danish grant-making foundation established in 1979 by Jenny and Mogens Vissing. It supports three purposes: patient-focused medical research into disease prevention, diagnostics and treatment, particularly cancer and diabetes; start-ups within energy and climate, including the Venture Cup competition; and projects and activities that support children and young people in Denmark facing difficult living conditions. The foundation accepts applications through set deadlines and reviews them internally with specialist advisers. Its roots lie in the brush industry: it owns 90% of Vikan A/S, a company that makes cleaning equipment and brushes, and its earlier business was Bay & Vissing.
