WZ LZS Opole

Founded in 1946, WZ LZS Opole is a non-profit network based in Opole, Poland working on sport for development, children & youth, community development.

Wojewódzkie Zrzeszenie Ludowe Zespoły Sportowe w Opolu (WZ LZS Opole) is a sports association in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland, uniting around 280 clubs and sports organisations. Founded in 1946, when the first LZS club in Poland was established, it promotes mass sport for all age groups in rural areas and small towns, including sport for people with disabilities. It also supports high-performance athletes and runs the regional operation of government sports programmes, including swimming lessons for children, the Klub programme and youth sport support. Its activities are funded through competitions run by the regional government, the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, and agreements with the national LZS association.
