Founded in 2010, Adelhelm Group is a government headquartered in Berlin, Germany specializing in Energy Storage.

The Adelhelm Group is an academic research organization within the Department of Chemistry at Humboldt University Berlin, led by Prof. Philipp Adelhelm. The group specializes in fundamental and applied electrochemistry research for rechargeable battery systems. Key research areas include: preparation and modification of electrode materials through solid-state synthesis; electrochemical characterization methods including in situ and operando techniques; exploration of lithium-ion and sodium-ion battery technologies; development of alternative cell concepts such as solid-state and sodium-sulfur batteries; and investigation of electrode aging and ion-size effects on battery performance. The team comprises an interdisciplinary collective of chemists, material scientists, electrochemists, and physicists. The group actively collaborates with international partners including Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, universities in Japan and Turkey, and industry partners such as BASF and TIAMAT. Major projects include participation in the EU-funded TwinBat project on sodium-ion batteries, the SIB:DE national project (Germany's largest Na-ion battery initiative with 21 partners), and operando spectroscopy research for solid-state batteries.
