About
Founded in 2010, Agile Wind Power is a private company headquartered in Dübendorf, Switzerland with approximately 11-50 employees specializing in Wind.
Agile Wind Power AG is a Swiss wind energy company founded in 2010 that develops and commercializes vertical-axis wind turbine technology. The company's flagship product, Vertical Sky, is a 1 MW megawatt-class vertical-axis wind turbine designed for decentralized electricity generation at industrial, commercial, and infrastructure sites. Vertical Sky operates with three rotor blades that continuously adjust to wind direction via active pitch control, enabling efficient power generation with minimal noise levels (under 35 dB at 25 meters) and reduced mechanical stress. The technology operates at low rotation speeds and is designed to integrate with existing renewable energy systems such as photovoltaic installations. Agile Wind Power offers two business models: direct purchase of the turbine for on-site energy independence, or Power-as-a-Service where the company handles all planning, financing, construction, and operation. The company employs 17 people and collaborates with international partners including OMEXOM (part of VINCI Energies), research institutions (EPFL, ZHAW, OST), and specialized service providers across the wind energy value chain.
