About

Founded in 2020, AmBIENCe Project is a ngo headquartered in Belgium specializing in Solar, Wind, Energy Storage.

AmBIENCe is an EU Horizon 2020 research and innovation project (Grant Agreement No 847054) that aims to extend the concept of Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) to Active Buildings and make it available to a wider range of building typologies. The project develops new concepts and business models for performance guarantees of Active Buildings, combining energy efficiency measures with active control of assets leveraging price-based incentive contracts. Key objectives include integrating demand-side management, energy efficiency, distributed generation, and renewable energy sources; creating a database for EU building typologies; developing KPI calculation tools for emission reductions; establishing proof-of-concept platforms; and facilitating stakeholder engagement through workshops and webinars. The consortium comprises eight international research and commercial partners across four countries, focusing on building retrofits, demand response, and sustainable energy projects in Southern European countries.
