About
Anker is a private headquartered in Sande, Germany specializing in Hydrogen.
Anker is a flagship green hydrogen project located in Sande, Lower Saxony, near Wilhelmshaven. The facility will produce renewable, carbon-free hydrogen through cutting-edge electrolysis technology powered entirely by renewable energy sources via power purchase agreements. As part of the Wasserstoffpark Friesland, Anker represents a regional cluster of green hydrogen innovation with strategic access to a planned 3 GW grid substation and future hydrogen pipeline networks. The first phase is scheduled to become operational by 2030, in alignment with Germany's hydrogen strategy targeting 10 GW of domestic electrolysis capacity by 2030. Anker will contribute significantly to the 1,800 km hydrogen start-up grid and the European Hydrogen Backbone. The green hydrogen will decarbonize steel production (replacing coke in blast furnaces), support green ammonia and chemical production, and fuel zero-emission transportation. The project will create jobs and provide opportunities for local businesses, supporting regional economic growth.
