The Bundesverband Erneuerbare Energie e.V. (BEE) is the leading trade association for renewable energy in Germany, founded in 1991 as the unified voice of the renewable energy industry. As a federation, it coordinates the interests of 55 member organizations, associations, and companies with approximately 30,000 individual members and more than 5,000 firms across all renewable energy sectors: solar, wind, hydro, biomass, and geothermal. The BEE represents over 316,000 jobs in the renewable energy sector and operates 3 million power installations. The organization works to improve framework conditions for renewable energies, advance their priority status in energy policy, and promote cooperation and knowledge exchange within the sector. BEE serves as a central platform for dialogue between government, industry, science, and civil society on energy transition. It organizes major events including the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue (since 2015) and the annual Energiedialog, and operates expert committees and competence centers across all renewable energy segments. Based on the EUREF-Campus in Berlin-Schöneberg, the BEE pursues the goal of 100% renewable energy across electricity, heating, and mobility sectors.
