About

Bw-Elektrolyse is a ngo headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany specializing in Hydrogen.

Bw-Elektrolyse is a project and initiative of the Centre for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg (ZSW), a non-profit foundation. The initiative focuses on advancing electrolysis technology for sustainable hydrogen production. The project has developed and demonstrated a CE-marked alkaline electrolysis system as of July 2023. The ZSW Technical Center develops application-oriented technology modules for hydrogen production and synthetic downstream products, implemented and tested at technical scale. The initiative provides information on hydrogen hub development, electrolysis component testing, and comparative technical analysis of market-ready electrolysis technologies (AEL and PEMEL). Activities are aligned with German and European hydrogen strategies targeting 5-10 GW of hydrogen production capacity in Germany by 2030-2040 and 40+ GW in the EU by 2030.
