Founded in 2023, CATCHER is a ngo headquartered in Lisbon, Portugal specializing in Other.

CATCHER is a Horizon EIC Grant-funded research initiative focused on developing breakthrough technology that converts atmospheric humidity into electrical energy through direct adsorption-to-electricity conversion. The project leverages advanced nanomaterial science and nanoelectronics to create humidity-to-electricity converters capable of generating approximately 15-20W/m² per panel (second generation prototype, 1m² scale). The technology operates through a chain of physicochemical and electrophysical processes at the interface of nanostructured oxide materials when interacting with water molecules. CATCHER's modular design enables deployment across diverse applications—from large-scale energy production plants to household devices in tropical and subtropical regions. The international collaboration involves researchers and businesses from Portugal, Belgium, Austria, Spain, and Ukraine, with headquarters in Lisbon. The project addresses fundamental research advancement, technological feasibility proof, and environmental-social-economic assessment, targeting 2050 EU renewable energy infrastructure integration.
