About
Founded in 2018, CCREEE is a government headquartered in Bridgetown, Barbados specializing in Solar, Wind, Biomass.
The Caribbean Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (CCREEE) is a specialized institution of CARICOM established in 2018 to address energy challenges in Caribbean Small Island Developing States. Hosted by the Government of Barbados, CCREEE supports member states in advancing renewable energy and energy efficiency, strengthening energy security, and enhancing climate resilience. The Centre operates seven strategic programmes addressing barriers to sustainable energy technology adoption, policy development, capacity building, financing, and entrepreneurship. It provides targeted technical assistance, facilitates policy development, supports integrated resource planning and sustainable energy projects, and maintains regional data systems. CCREEE is part of a broader network of regional sustainable energy centres for SIDS in Africa, the Caribbean, the Indian Ocean, and the Pacific, working toward the SIDS DOCK goal of generating 50% electric power from renewable sources by 2033.
