Certifhy is a leading hydrogen and e-fuels certification organization established in 2014. It operates under a governance structure aligned with European Commission guidelines for voluntary certification schemes. The organization manages two primary certification schemes: the CertifHy EU RFNBO Scheme, officially recognized by the European Commission for certifying compliance with EU regulations for renewable hydrogen and derivative fuels used in transportation, and the CertifHy NGC (Non-Governmental Certification) Scheme, operational since 2018 as the first book-and-claim system certifying low-carbon and renewable hydrogen volumes for the voluntary disclosure market in Europe. Certifhy provides precertification services, auditor training through the CertifHy Academy, electronic certificates tracked in the CertifHy Registry, and support for H2Global bidders. The organization is governed by a 15-member Steering Committee representing hydrogen value chain stakeholders, with a Stakeholder Platform that shapes certification frameworks and industry standards. Certifhy's services encompass verification of greenhouse gas emissions, sustainability compliance, traceability to prevent fraud and double-counting, and facilitation of regulatory reporting under the Renewable Energy Directive.
