About

Founded in 2006, Ciuden is a government headquartered in Cubillos del Sil, Spain specializing in Hydrogen, Solar, Energy Storage.

Fundación Ciudad de la Energía is a state public sector foundation attached to the Institute for Just Transition of Spain's Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge. Founded in 2006, it promotes energy transition toward decarbonization while supporting economic, social, and employment development. The organization operates the Cubillos del Sil Technology Development Centre, which features integrated green hydrogen production through water electrolysis, a hybrid system combining photovoltaic solar energy with three battery storage technologies (1 MW capacity, 8 MWh storage), and dual electrolyzers. Funded through the European Union's Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (Next Generation EU), the foundation also operates vocational training programs (Ciuden Vivero) focused on employment promotion and plant production, manages cultural and heritage facilities including museums and galleries, and participates in just transition strategy implementation and rural innovation initiatives.
