Communitypower is a European-wide coalition working to transform the energy system by putting communities and cooperatives at the center of renewable energy development. The organization facilitates community-owned energy projects across Europe, builds public coalitions at national and EU levels, and provides capacity building on integrating community energy into local energy plans. Notable achievements include supporting community solar projects in Spain (such as Huerta Solar Amigos de la Tierra) and advocating for Scotland's achievement of 500MW of community and locally-owned renewable energy. The CO-POWER project, EU-funded, established eight strong public community power coalitions across seven national contexts and at the European level.
