About
Founded in 2015, Digital Cellulose Center is a ngo headquartered in Sweden specializing in Energy Storage.
The Digital Cellulose Center aims to make lignocellulose-based products an integral part of a sustainable, digital society. The center develops sustainable, circular electronics by combining forest materials and IoT technology. Research focuses on digital cellulose—combining cellulose with electroactive materials to create electrically active products that communicate with the digital world while remaining sustainable. Applications include active packaging solutions with sensing capabilities, paper-based energy storage systems compatible with solar and wind power generation, sustainable supercapacitors, and paper batteries for large-scale renewable energy storage. The center is coordinated by RISE Research Institutes of Sweden and financed by Vinnova (Sweden's innovation agency).
