The cooperative aims to promote and utilize renewable energy in Nottwil, contributing to the community's energy supply with regional renewable sources and supporting the municipality's path toward a 2000-Watt society under the Energiestadt label. The cooperative operates through a member-based model where individuals can purchase shares at CHF 1000 each. E-nottwil has developed multiple photovoltaic installations, including systems on the Badi Restaurant (64 modules, 22.5 MWh annual production), the secondary school building, and the Zentrum Eymatt facility with both rooftop and facade-mounted solar modules. The cooperative emphasizes technical optimization, including low-radiation inverters, Smartfox control systems for consumption optimization, and EV charging stations powered by solar production.
