Founded in 2007, Emissions-zero is a co-op headquartered in Belgium with approximately 50-200 employees specializing in Solar, Wind, Hydro.
Émissions Zéro is a citizen cooperative that invests in and operates renewable energy production projects. Since 2007, it has developed 17 projects across Wallonia and Brussels in wind, solar, hydroelectric, and biomass energy. The cooperative produces approximately 45 GWh annually through supported units. Key projects include wind turbines in Dour, Quiévrain, La Louvière, and Fauvillers; hydroelectric facilities on the Sambre and Ourthe rivers; biogas plants at Ochain Energie and Aubel; and solar installations on public buildings and facilities. The cooperative operates on democratic principles where each member has one vote regardless of capital invested, and distributes dividends to members. It also engages in energy efficiency initiatives and citizen awareness campaigns.
