Founded in 2021, Energica-h2020 is a ngo headquartered in Brussels, Belgium specializing in Solar, Biomass, Biogas.

ENERGICA is a €12 million Horizon 2020 research and innovation project coordinating 28 partners from 15 countries to advance sustainable energy access and development in Africa. The project operates through 11 work packages including three technical demonstration sites focusing on: productive nano-grids and water-energy-food nexus in Madagascar; biogas and water purification technologies in Sierra Leone; and battery systems for electric mobility in Kenya. The project emphasizes community engagement through Energy Transition Boards, local capacity building, and training programs to ensure long-term technology sustainability and replicability across diverse African contexts. Solutions are developed collaboratively with local communities to address specific regional needs in energy access, clean cooking, water treatment, and sustainable mobility.
