About
Founded in 2024, Energiewende-gender is a ngo headquartered in Germany specializing in Solar.
EPOS (Energiewende und Gender Potentiale der Stärkung von Diversität in der Bürger*innen-Energie) is a joint research and practice project funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. The project investigates how to increase diversity and gender equity in citizen-led renewable energy movements, addressing structural barriers that prevent women and FLINTA from participating in energy democracy. Through research partnerships with Brandenburg University of Technology and the Institute for Ecological Economics, and practice partners including Bündnis Bürgerenergie, the project develops and tests interventions such as practical workshops on balcony power plants, coaching for energy cooperatives, and community engagement formats. Project outputs include case databases, typologies of participation practices, scientific publications, guidelines, and policy recommendations, all freely available to the public.
