The Energy Enterprise Coach (EEC) is a business development services facility for renewable energy small and medium-sized enterprises in Africa and Asia. It is conceptualised and funded by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, co-financed and initiated with the Energizing Development (EnDev) partnership, and implemented by NIRAS. EEC aims to make enterprises investment-ready and connect them with financiers. Support is delivered through e-learning on a rolling basis, cohort group trainings, individual mentoring, monthly masterclasses, and matchmaking events. Focus areas include clean cooking, off-grid solar, biogas and biodigesters, and bioslurry, with a stated target of at least 25% participation from women and women-owned enterprises. By the end of March 2025 the e-learning platform had enrolled 325 enterprises, and 374 companies had received at least one form of BDS support. The implementation timeframe runs up to December 2026.
