ePANACEA is a Horizon 2020 research and innovation project (grant agreement No 892421) that concluded in October 2023. It developed a comprehensive, modular methodology for energy performance assessment and certification of buildings to address challenges in existing EU Energy Performance Certificate schemes. The project employs advanced techniques including dynamic and automated simulation modelling, big data analysis, machine learning, and inverse modelling. It incorporates the Smart Readiness Indicator and ensures compliance with EU Directives on energy efficiency and ISO/CEN standards. The methodology was demonstrated and validated across five pilot countries through 15 real case studies, involving 31+ European institutions and regional stakeholders through Regional Exploitation Boards covering EU-27, Norway, and the UK.
