Founded in 2013, the European Waste-based & Advanced Biofuels Association (Ewaba) is a members-driven non-profit organization focused on supporting waste-based and advanced biodiesel producers, waste collectors, technology providers, and affiliated associations. The association provides in-depth policy, regulatory, and market information to members, representing their interests before EU and national authorities to achieve favorable regulatory frameworks. Ewaba coordinates working groups on Government Affairs, Communications, Technical, and Maritime affairs, engages with media and research institutes, and participates in European research projects including the LIFE Bio-Lubricant project. The association advocates for the circular economy benefits of waste-based biodiesel, which achieves up to 90% greenhouse gas savings compared to mineral diesel, and promotes higher biodiesel blends for decarbonizing heavy-duty vehicles, aviation, and maritime transport. With 59 members operating in 22 European member states plus UK and Switzerland, Ewaba serves as a business hub for networking and collaboration within the waste-based and advanced biofuels supply chain.
