FloWave Ocean Energy Research Facility is a world-leading wave and current testing facility consisting of a 25-metre diameter, 2-metre deep circular basin. It is the first circular combined wave and current facility globally, creating highly repeatable waves and currents that mimic real-life coastal waters. The facility supports both commercial and academic clients in accelerating the testing of ocean energy technologies. Notable projects include HAPiWEC (Holistic Advanced Prototyping and Interfacing for Wave Energy Control) and testing of Mocean Energy's Blue X (10 kW) and Blue Horizon (250 kW) wave energy converter prototypes. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art wave tank, laboratory, and workshop facilities for scaled prototype testing and marine energy research.
