Fuelphoria is an EU-funded Innovation Action project coordinated by CERTH working to establish sustainable, competitive, and secure value chains for advanced biofuels and renewable fuels of non-biological origin (RFNBOs). The project develops and tests nine complete value chain demonstrations across four locations in Belgium, Greece, and Spain. These demonstrations include: producing liquid biofuels from biogas-upgrading CO2 and renewable hydrogen; synthetic natural gas from CO2 and green hydrogen via wine fermentation CO2 capture; biodiesel from microalgae using biogas plant effluents; and bioethanol from urban biowastes. The project evaluates environmental performance, designs business models for market entry, and explores export potential through collaboration with Africa.
