Georisk-project is a ngo headquartered in Belgium specializing in Geothermal.

The GEORISK project is a 30-month research initiative funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 programme, coordinated by EGEC (European Geothermal Energy Council). It develops financial schemes to mitigate resource risk in geothermal project development by spreading risk so developers can accept their fair share. The project works to establish risk insurance mechanisms across Europe and key target third countries to cover the exploration phase and initial drilling of deep geothermal projects. GEORISK addresses the primary barrier to geothermal market uptake—geological resource uncertainty—through the creation of derisking frameworks that reduce financial exposure for project developers and improve capital accessibility. The project produces research reports, factsheets, peer-reviewed papers, online risk registers, and operates a helpdesk supporting decision-makers and investors in establishing insurance schemes.
