German eFuel One is a pioneering eFuel production plant located in Steyerberg, Lower Saxony, Germany. The facility utilizes CAC-METHAFUEL technology, developed in collaboration with TU Bergakademie Freiberg, to convert methanol into synthetic gasoline (95E10) that meets DIN EN 228 standards. The plant is powered entirely by green electricity from wind and solar sources, enabling climate-friendly production without requiring modifications to existing vehicles or infrastructure. With an annual production capacity of 75 million liters (57,000 tonnes of 95E10), the facility saves over 145,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually compared to fossil fuels. The project is backed by a strategic partnership of 16 leading companies and organizations, including BMW Group, LOTHER, HIF Global, CAC Engineering, and Oxxynova. Long-term purchase agreements with automotive and shipping companies secure demand for the synthetic fuels produced.
