Founded in 2000, GreenZone is a renewable energy company headquartered in Umeå, Sweden specializing in Solar, Energy Storage.

GreenZone is a pioneering sustainable commercial district established in 2000 in Umeå, Sweden. Founded by the Carstedt family and designed by sustainability architect Anders Nyquist, it demonstrates integrated system solutions for sustainable urban development. The project features solar panels with annual renewable electricity generation exceeding operational consumption, battery storage, microgrids, vacuum toilets, sedum roofs, natural stormwater management, over 40 species of vegetation, and wooden construction using recyclable materials. GreenZone 2.0 expansion (12,000 m²) integrates smart electricity solutions to reduce power peaks. The site hosts over 10,000 annual visitors and welcomes new sustainable businesses while maintaining low employee turnover.
