About
Founded in 2025, H2pepper is a ngo headquartered in Germany specializing in Hydrogen.
H2pepper (PEPPER project) is a 36-month research and innovation initiative funded under the Clean Hydrogen Partnership's HORIZON-JTI-CLEANH2-2024-01-01 call. The consortium advances planar proton-conducting ceramic electrolysis cell technology from TRL 2 to TRL 4, targeting the decarbonization of energy-intensive sectors including steel, chemicals, and refining. The project develops two advanced planar cell types (Cermet Supported and Metal Supported), integrates them into short-stack demonstrators, and validates performance under pressurized and realistic industrial conditions. Key innovations include optimized internal manifold design, reduced reliance on rare earth materials, and integration of industrial waste heat for enhanced efficiency. The consortium comprises eight partners: DLR, CEA, CNRS, AVL, DTU, EIFER, Elcogen, and Grant Garant.
