About
H2rivers is a renewable energy company headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany specializing in Hydrogen.
H2rivers is a major hydrogen pilot project in Germany's Rhein-Neckar region with a total investment volume of approximately 97 million euros across four years. The project encompasses the entire hydrogen value chain: green hydrogen production via electrolysis using renewable energy, distribution and storage infrastructure, and deployment of fuel cell vehicles in public transportation and commercial logistics. The initiative includes 12 project partners and demonstrates hydrogen generation, infrastructure development (including new hydrogen refueling stations in Mannheim, Ludwigshafen, and Frankenthal), and fuel cell technology in real-world operations with articulated buses and municipal vehicles. The project was recognized as a HyPerformer region in 2019 by the German federal government and received 20 million euros in federal funding. H2rivers works in conjunction with the H2Rhein-Neckar project to establish a regional hydrogen economy and provide lessons learned for future hydrogen infrastructure development.
