About
Founded in 2021, Hydrogen Hub Aachen is a co-op headquartered in Aachen, Germany specializing in Hydrogen.
The Hydrogen Hub Aachen is a multi-stakeholder initiative launched in February 2021 by the city of Aachen, Städteregion Aachen, and the districts of Düren, Euskirchen, and Heinsberg, coordinated by IHK Aachen. The hub networks over 330 actors from industry and science across the entire hydrogen value chain: production, transport, storage, component manufacturing, and applications in industry and mobility. Key activities include infrastructure planning, project development, political positioning, and international cooperation. The network operates research clusters (Helmholtz-Cluster, Zukunftscluster Wasserstoff), coordinates hydrogen demonstration projects, and organizes regular meet-and-connect events. Goals include generating local value creation, creating jobs, developing sustainable hydrogen technologies from concept to application, and establishing the region as a hydrogen economic hotspot.
