HyFly is a collaborative project between Kasaero, PS-HyTech, Flying Ad, and the Technical University of Würzburg-Schweinfurt, funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection. The H167 propulsion system features a 7 kg spherical hydrogen tank, fuel cell, buffer battery, control electronics, and electric motor/inverter combination, delivering 70 kW take-off power. The system enables flight durations up to 7 hours and is characterized by high modularity for flexible integration into various aircraft types, including retrofitting existing aircraft. The H167 fulfills LTF-UL requirements and won the Sustainable Aviation Award 2023 for pioneering work in integrated hydrogen fuel cell propulsion for light aircraft.
