Founded in 2021, HyPErFarm is a ngo headquartered in Belgium specializing in Solar, Hydrogen, Energy Storage.

HyPErFarm is a Horizon 2020-funded research initiative focused on integrating agrivoltaics into European agriculture. The project develops dual-use farming systems where photovoltaic panels are installed on farmland to generate renewable energy while maintaining crop production. Key innovations include solar panels for hydrogen production to power farm machinery, on-farm biochar fertilizer production through e-driven pyrolysis, and battery storage systems. The project operates three pilot sites across different European countries with diverse climates, assessing technical optimization, economic viability, environmental impacts, and social acceptance. Research includes crop yield analysis, lifecycle assessment, cost-benefit modeling, and development of user-friendly simulation tools coupling energy and crop yield predictions.
