IANOS is a renewable energy company headquartered in Portugal specializing in Solar, Wind, Geothermal.
IANOS (IntegrAted SolutioNs for DecarbOnisation and Smartification of Islands) is a Horizon 2020-funded research and innovation project focused on enabling maximum provision and utilization of flexibility and self-sufficiency through distributed renewable energy and storage technologies on European islands. The project develops an Island Energy Planning and Transition Suite and an AI-based Virtual Power Plant that optimizes energy generation and balances demand-supply using meta-learning predictive methods, fog computing, and smart grid integration. Pilot implementations on Ameland and Terceira islands demonstrate solutions for geothermal, wind, tidal, and solar energy exploitation. The Terceira pilot is fully equipped with 39 photovoltaic systems, batteries, and KISENSE integration. Three fellow islands (Lampedusa, Bora Bora, Nisyros) will validate replicability. The consortium comprises 35 partners from 10 European countries.
