INTELLIGENT is a collaborative EU-funded research initiative under Horizon Europe (Grant agreement ID: 101160678) developing critical technology for peer-to-peer energy trading at scale. The project brings together 15 partners including academic institutions, research and technology organizations, SMEs, NGOs, and public bodies. It builds on Grid Singularity's existing open-source P2P platform, expanding capabilities with advanced trading mechanisms such as multi-attribute auctions, blockchain-based secure data exchange, and AI/ML-based flexibility optimization services. The platform is being demonstrated across four diverse European pilot sites: Aran Islands (Ireland), Buochs/CELL (Switzerland), Lugaggia Innovation Community (Switzerland), and Cascais/Santa Maria da Feira (Portugal). The project provides interoperable, protocol and regulation-agnostic tools for network-aware, ledger-based local energy sharing, facilitating secure, decentralized market operations while supporting grid flexibility and resilience. Solutions are developed as open-source software for further development and commercialization.
