About
Founded in 2021, Interred Cooperation is a ngo headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, Germany specializing in Solar.
Netzwerk InterRed Cooperación e.V. is a German-based solidarity organization dedicated to supporting Cuba's energy transition through renewable energy projects. Since 2021, the organization has designed and installed solar photovoltaic systems on rooftops of Cuban institutions including medical research centers, universities, healthcare facilities, and cultural institutions. All projects are financed through public donations with zero overhead costs—administrative expenses are covered separately by member contributions, and volunteer staff cover their own travel costs. The organization prioritizes knowledge transfer to local partners, training Cuban personnel in solar installation and maintenance to build local capacity. By end of 2025, InterRed has completed or is executing multiple projects totaling over 635 kWp of installed capacity, generating approximately 950,000 kWh annually and displacing over 450,000 liters of diesel/heating oil consumption per year, resulting in 1,192 tonnes of annual CO2 reductions. Future projects include battery storage systems to enable evening energy utilization.
