Konaro

Founded in 2001, Konaro is a government headquartered in Straubing, Germany specializing in Biomass, Biogas, Hydrogen.

The KoNaRo Centre of Excellence for Renewable Resources was established by the Bavarian Government in 2001 in Straubing. It operates as a collaborative hub of three independent institutions: TUM Campus Straubing for Biotechnology and Sustainability (conducting basic research and academic training), the Technology and Support Centre (applying research and project evaluation with over 40 years experience), and C.A.R.M.E.N. e.V. (public relations, consultation, and project assessment). The centre covers the complete value chain from cultivation and agricultural aspects of renewable resources through to market commercialization. Core activities include research and development of new technologies and products, market analysis and development, farmer and consumer advisory services, project evaluation, and funding programme implementation. Focus areas include biomass utilization, renewable fuels, hydrogen, solar and wind energy, hydropower, and energy efficiency. The organization serves as a key partner for Bavaria's energy transition and sustainability agenda.
