About
Lauds is a government headquartered in Switzerland specializing in Solar, Hydrogen, Energy Storage.
Lauds Factories is a European research and innovation initiative (Horizon Europe, 2024-2026, GA 101135986) that reimagines manufacturing as local, accessible, urban, digital, and sustainable. The project operates through two open calls inviting hybrid teams comprising artists, designers, creatives, technology providers, startups, and SMEs to collaborate with Lauds Factories—including FabLab SUPSI (Switzerland), Maker V-10 (Copenhagen), and other European makerspaces. The initiative funds experiments (minimum 8, up to 216,000 EUR total) exploring novel uses of digital fabrication technologies, open-source hardware, and participatory design to address pressing challenges in three sectors: mobility (sustainable transport, active mobility, equitable access), energy (decentralized renewable systems, energy efficiency, autonomous energy), and agriculture/food production (urban farming, food waste reduction, sustainable materials). Projects emphasize regenerative design, material reuse, community empowerment, and scalable local production. Participating organizations include SUPSI Design Institute, HIWW (Hamburg), Fab City Hamburg, Helmut Schmidt University, and various European innovation labs. The project leverages human-centered design, open innovation methodologies, and transdisciplinary collaboration to transform local production ecosystems.
