About

Founded in 2009, Les 4 Bornes is a co-op headquartered in Val-de-Ruz, Switzerland specializing in Wind.

Les 4 Bornes is a wind farm project in Val-de-Ruz, Neuchâtel, Switzerland, initiated by 23 local farmers in 2009. The project represents a cooperative model where farmers became energy producers (énergiculteurs) to diversify their income and support energy autonomy. The development is carried out through a partnership between the Sàrl Eoliennes La Joux-du-Plâne-L'Échelette, Groupe E Greenwatt SA, Société des Forces Electriques de La Goule SA, and the local commune. The wind park will consist of three turbines with a maximum height of 207 meters, expected to produce approximately 23 million kWh net annually. The project has received federal court validation and is designed with extensive environmental compensation measures, including involvement of conservation organizations (WWF, Pro Natura, BirdLife ASPO, Helvetia Nostra). All internal and external power lines are underground. The project emphasizes sustainable integration with local agriculture, biodiversity protection, and regional economic benefits.
