About

LHyVE is a renewable energy company headquartered in Leipzig, Germany specializing in Hydrogen.

LHyVE is an integrated green hydrogen project launched by the Leipzig Group, ONTRAS Gastransport GmbH, and EDL Anlagenbau Gesellschaft mbH. The initiative aims to establish an intelligent, regionally networked green hydrogen system as a flagship for efficient sector coupling, integrating with emerging European hydrogen infrastructure. The project encompasses three main pillars: LHyVE Erzeugung (production of climate-neutral hydrogen via electrolysis using renewable energy), LHyVE Transport (creation of a hydrogen ring around Leipzig region with integration into European hydrogen infrastructure), and LHyVE Systems (deployment of hydrogen across regional applications including mobility, heating, industry, and power generation). The region benefits from existing hydrogen infrastructure, chemical industry demand, salt cavern storage capacity, and high renewable energy penetration. The project supports Leipzig's goal of technological leadership in hydrogen and contributes to decarbonization objectives across transport, heating, and industrial sectors.
