The facility supports development and testing of offshore renewable energy technologies, serving as the first step in device development. Devices can progress from laboratory conditions to protected testing sites (Galway Bay Test Site) and ultimately open ocean conditions (Atlantic Marine Energy Test Site, Bemullet).
