Founded in 2024, ONDEP is a renewable energy company specializing in Wave.

ONDEP is a multi-partner European initiative uniting 14 leading organizations across nine countries to unlock wave energy potential and support Europe's blue economy. The project will establish a 2MW demonstration wave energy farm in Peniche, Portugal, featuring four WaveRoller units. ONDEP combines technology development, environmental assessment, manufacturing capabilities, and grid integration to scale wave energy technology for gigawatt-scale deployments. The consortium includes technology developers (AW-Energy), research institutions (Queens University Belfast), engineering firms (Dr.techn. Olav Olsen AS, TECNALIA), manufacturing partners (ASTURFEITO, ETERMAR ENERGIA), environmental specialists (TecAmb, WavEC), and testing facilities (EMEC). The project targets a levelized cost of energy below €100/MWh by 2035 and aims to create up to 500,000 jobs in Europe.
