About
Founded in 2016, PACE is a ngo headquartered in Brussels, Belgium specializing in Hydrogen.
PACE (Pathway to a Competitive European Fuel Cell micro-CHP Market) is a flagship European project co-funded by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership and EU member states. Running from 2016-2023 with a total budget of €90 million, PACE deployed over 2,500 fuel cell micro-cogeneration units across 11 European countries. The project works with five leading European suppliers to commercialize fuel cell micro-cogeneration systems that simultaneously generate heat and electricity for buildings. These systems achieve up to 90% total efficiency and use solid oxide fuel cell technology operating at 700°C. PACE facilitates the industrial transition from prototype to mass production, targeting 10,000 units per year post-2020, with manufacturers establishing capacity for at least 1,000 systems annually by 2018. The project also engages with policymakers and heating supply chains to establish regulatory frameworks supporting widespread rollout.
