About

Founded in 2002, Pixii is a ngo headquartered in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium with approximately 10-50 employees specializing in Energy Storage.

As a neutral scientific institution and member-based organization, Pixii promotes sustainable and climate-resilient building and living practices. The organization focuses on carbon-neutral construction using passive building principles as a foundation for decarbonizing the built environment. Key areas include passive house design, circular building economy, biobased materials, energy efficiency, and building renovation at building and district scales. Pixii develops training materials for vocational and secondary schools, provides technical advice, organizes expert days and conferences, and facilitates a network of innovative enterprises, knowledge institutions, and civil society organizations. The organization participates in the EU-funded CASCO project (2024-2027) to develop an ecosystem for biobased materials in construction.
