About

Founded in 2024, POWERBASE is a government headquartered in Germany specializing in Solar, Hydrogen, Energy Storage.

POWERBASE is a one-year EU-funded research and innovation project under the Horizon Europe programme (grant 101167787) that ran from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025. Coordinated by the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief, it brings together 12 partners from 10 countries including emergency response organizations, research institutes, and procurement experts. The project addresses the need to transition emergency response operations from diesel generators to sustainable, low-emission mobile power solutions. Through scenario-based needs assessments, technology mapping, and procurement strategy development, POWERBASE prepares the foundation for future public procurement of renewable energy technologies for emergency shelters and bases of operation. Work focuses on functional requirements definition, state-of-the-art technology analysis, innovation procurement procedures, and stakeholder community building across Europe.
