Founded in 2008, Prograss is a ngo headquartered in Germany specializing in Biomass, Biogas.

Prograss is a European R&D network established in 2008 that promotes integrated biomass and carbon management (IBCM) for circular carbon economy development. The network combines state-of-the-art technology with sustainable regional development to transform unused biomasses into storable renewable energy and activated carbon products. Working across 27 EU member states, Prograss conducts research on grassland ecology, biomass energetic and material use, and climate-adapted crop production. The network facilitates regional workshops, capacity building programs, and strategic development to create new income sources for farmers and disadvantaged communities while reducing competition with food production. Core focus areas include biochar production, biogas optimization, and value chain development for bio-fuels and activated carbon from landscape management residues.
