Founded in 2021, PtX Lab Lausitz is a government headquartered in Cottbus, Germany specializing in Hydrogen.

PtX Lab Lausitz, a practice laboratory for electricity-based fuels and basic chemicals from green hydrogen, was established in March 2021 in Cottbus as a division of Zukunft Umwelt Gesellschaft gGmbH (a federally owned environmental services company). The center serves as a knowledge platform, innovation hub, and contact point for industry, policy, science, and the public. It focuses on Power-to-X technologies that enable sector coupling, allowing renewable electricity to be converted to green hydrogen and sustainable fuels and chemicals for aviation, maritime transport, and chemical industries—sectors where direct electrification is often unfeasible. The lab conducts interdisciplinary research, coordinates stakeholder engagement, supports demonstration projects including a Power-to-Liquid facility, and develops policy recommendations to accelerate market deployment of sustainable PtX products while achieving Germany's 2045 climate neutrality target.
